FAQ.
Joining
Do I need to be an engineer?+
No. The society is built for both halves: creatives rebuilding their craft for the AI era, and the people building the tools. Events pair the two: no creative background needed for builders, no AI experience needed for creatives.
What does membership cost?+
Nothing, ever. Membership is free by design. Certification runs on a sliding scale with sponsored scholarship seats, and terms for each event come with its invite, so cost is never the barrier.
What happens after I join?+
The newsletter starts arriving with event invites and member work. Apply for the Sep 13 masterclass, and follow the Luma calendar for future events. Bring your friends with your referral link. A friend who joins and signs in earns you points toward member rewards; see the tiers and the rules on your account page.
Where are you?+
San Francisco, in person, right now. Other cities open through waitlists and proposals in the chapters list; the newsletter and benchmark reports are everywhere.
Programs & partners
How does mentorship work?+
In cohorts. Tell us what you want to work on and we match you with someone who has done it: AI production, story, directing, editing, sound, or engineering. Small groups, for the length of the program. New mentees join one cohort at a time.
When does certification open, and what does it cost?+
This fall. 8 weeks, sliding scale, scholarship seats. 2 tracks, each named for the job it prepares you for: Certified AI Engineer, Creative Systems opens first; Certified Creative Technologist, Generative Media follows. The notify list gets first invites. See the full curriculum. Salary data for the roles it trains for: the career paths report.
Can my company get involved?+
Sponsor an event, a chapter, or scholarship seats, or bring a production brief from your slate. One seat carries one creative professional through 8 assessed weeks. Sponsorship funds the programs and never buys influence over benchmarks. Start on the sponsors & partners page.
