Who runs this.

Liz Zhang, 2x founder and AI advocacy leader, heads The Multimodal Society. She helped grow a 200K-member developer community and has hosted hackathons alongside OpenAI, Google, and other leading AI labs, and won more than a few as a competitor. Open-source contributor, YouTube creator, and Substack author, she has built across 5 countries and 3 continents.

The Multimodal Society is a nonprofit initiative built on one bet: the best work of the AI era will come from people fluent in both art and code. We equip creative professionals to command AI, certify them against a public benchmark, and teach them beside the engineers building the tools.

The mission runs on three surfaces: an assessed certification program, our open, vendor-neutral benchmark as its standard, and in-person chapters starting in San Francisco.
